Pueblo Nuevo
Pueblo Nuevo, an independent Netlabel based in Santiago, Chile, funded in july 2005 by Mika Martini and Daniel Jeffs, whose work is at the same time global and local; nurtured form our ancestral expressions and from the technology of modern civilization, opening a bridge between tradition and the avant-garde, the most remote oral culture and the most sophisticated hypertext.
In its 19 years of evolution, Pueblo Nuevo has dedicated itself to publishing the most varied styles of electronic music: from danceable to experimental currents, from ambient to extreme noise, from the music of talented youth to that of recognized electroacoustic composers with longstanding and distinguished careers in the field. This broad stylistic framework offers total creative freedom to participating musicians, who contribute with their works to the development of the project in its entirety, in order to convert this opportunity into a platform of support and dissemination for the distribution of free culture.
Under the direction of Mika Martini and with the support of its collaborators and musical participants, Pueblo Nuevo has caught the attention of national and foreign media with articles published in countries such as Germany, Mexico, Argentina, Spain, the Netherlands and the United States, in addition to tons of notes and reviews in magazines online and websites. It has also been the subject of academic research. Finally, it is the intention of Pueblo Nuevo to go out to encounter people, to reach their ears and their hearts. To find the ancient voice and the youthful shout. To re-encounter, ultimately, ourselves and of our being.
