Teemu P – “Roskooppi” – No.54

Published on November 26, 2012

Roskooppi takes another detour to the land of jazz and soul. After receiving a few requests to revisit the themes of Roskooppi #46 I decided that it was time to play something slightly different from the usual fair. The set is a mixture of old and new from 1970’s Romanian jazz of Guido Manusardi to Eugene Harrington’s modern take on basement jazz. Starting it all of is Shuggie Otis with his track that got brilliantly sampled on Gus Gus Feat. Mayburg – Hateful (Ada Remix).

Shuggie Otis – Aht Uh Mi Hed [Epic]
Eugene Harrington – She Always Asks (How Come There’s No Words) [NOECHO Records]
Guido Manusardi – Arriving Soon [Sonar Kollektiv]
Radu Ghizasan – Nunta [Sonar Kollektiv]
Nieminen & Litmanen – Soul Dress [Grandpop Records]
The Sun Ra Arkestra – Egypt Strut [Golden Years Of New Jazz]
Eddie Gale – The Rain [Blue Note]
The Rongetz Foundation Feat. Gregory Porter – Gogo Soul [Brooklyn Butterfly Sound]
The Herbaliser – The Real Killer [Ninja Tune]
The Shaolin Afronauts – Brooklyn [Freestyle]
Roy Ayers Ubiquity – Love Will Bring Us Back Together [Polydor]
Stevie Wonder – I Believe (When I Fall In Love It Will Be Forever) [Tamla]
